Among the 195 law schools reporting employment outcomes for the class of 2025, the median school places 93.0% of its graduates in employment. Figures range from 56.3% to 100.0%.

Across all 195 schools, 36,313 graduates produced 33,434 employed positions and 32,514 full-time long-term positions — the figure ABA treats as the real measure of a graduate's outcome.

61.8% of all full-time long-term positions are in law firms. Law firms are reported as a separate size distribution rather than inside the industry breakdown, so any figure labelled "industry distribution" covers only the remaining non-firm destinations — reading it as the whole picture would miss most graduates.

At the median school, 93.7% of full-time long-term positions require or anticipate bar admission. The rest are jobs where a JD is an advantage but licensure is not the point — often still legal work, sometimes not.

Read the firm column and the industry column together

This is the single easiest thing to get wrong in employment data. The ABA reports law firms as their own size breakdown — solo, 1–10 attorneys, and so on — and the industry breakdown covers only non-firm destinations. At the median school 61.8% of full-time long-term graduates went to firms, so an industry percentage quoted on its own accounts for less than half the class. Both columns appear on every school’s page and add up exactly.

Ranked by employment rate

Share of graduates at firms with 501 or more attorneys

The most-requested single figure in legal recruiting, as a share of full-time long-term positions. It says nothing about the remaining graduates — a school can place few people at large firms and still place everyone.

What this data does not tell you

No employment data reported

1 school filed no employment outcomes for this class. They are excluded from every ranking above — a missing report is not a zero rate.

Source: ABA Standard 509 Employment Outcomes, class of 2025, retrieved via the ABA's published compilation report. Employment rate is calculated over graduates with known employment status. Firm size and industry figures are full-time long-term positions. Not a prediction of any individual's outcome.
